MECHANICSVILLE STATION

The Darlington County Fire District will accept written sealed bids from contractors licensed in South Carolina for the construction of a Fire Station in the Mechanicsville Community on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Office of the County Administrator/Materials Management 1 Public Square Room 210, Darlington, SC  29532. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and marked: Bid # 1-08-10-10, “Mechanicsville Station”. Bids will be received at the above referenced address and open at the stated appointed time.

There will be a mandatory Pre-bid conference on July 20, 2010 at 10:00am at the Darlington County Fire District 137 North Center Road, Hartsville, South Carolina.

Bids documents may be obtained from the Architect, Robert Goodson, AIA 527 East Carolina Avenue, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550. (843) 383-5212. Plans and documents may be obtained from the Architect upon deposit of $120.00 per set. Shipping and handling of $10.00 will be additional. Deposit will be refunded to General Contractors submitting bona fide bid proposals and returning the documents in good condition within ten (10) days following the bid date as follows: the first set of documents shall be fully refundable. Additional sets will be refunded sixty dollars ($60.00) to cover cost of reproduction. (Only General contractors are eligible for plan deposit refund.)

Plans and specification may be examined at the office of the Architect, Office of County Administrator/Materials Management and the Darlington County Fire District.

Bid security will be required in the form of a cashier’s check or bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.

The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or technicality in bids received, and to accept or reject any or all items of any bid. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days from the bid date.
